The planning committee of the newly established French Street Special Improvement District (SID) is seeking nominations for candidates interested in serving on the inaugural Board of Directors of the SID's district management organization.

Online applications are available in both English and Spanish at the links below.

The SID organization's Board, by municipal ordinance and organizational bylaws, will consist of 17 members: 5 district property owners, 5 district business owners or representatives, 5 district residents or community representatives, 1 member appointed by the Mayor, and 1 City Council member appointed by the Council.

The application includes questions about board membership categories, your interest in the French Street SID, your qualifications and skills, and availability. If you are unsure if you meet the criteria for one of the Board membership categories, reach out first before submitting an application. Applications may take 15-20 minutes to complete. If you wish to apply for the Board but need an accommodation to share your responses in another way (for example, audio or video), please contact us.

Full Board terms are three years long, though the initial Board will have staggered terms of one, two, and three years. Board membership is a voluntary, uncompensated position.

The applications will be reviewed and initial Board selections made by a six-member nominations committee consisting of property owners, business owners, and community representatives who have been active in the planning for the French Street SID. The application deadline is July 10 and candidates will be informed of final decisions by July 15. The Board is expected to have its first official meeting at the end of July or beginning of August.
