    This mural - the name of which means “heartbeat of the city” in English - is inspired by the history of entrepreneurship in the French Street corridor. More than any other commercial area of New Brunswick, French Street and its small businesses have always reflected the distinct character of the local residential community, especially waves of immigrants from Eastern Europe (particularly Hungary) and more recently, Latin America and Mexico. The mural alludes to several distinctive businesses that are a part of the corridor’s history.
