    This mural is the culmination of a cross-cultural dialogue between the Mexican, Hungarian, and Polish communities that have shaped the local neighborhood over the past century. Artist RH Doaz, a native of New Brunswick’s Hungarian community, uses distinctive flora and fauna to represent the communities and their shared experience of making New Brunswick home while preserving their heritage. “As Birds on Pinions Free” alludes to the poem by Walt Whitman that celebrates the openness and striving of America.The American Hungarian Foundation and Holy Family Parish participated as project partners.
