About French Street & Joyce Kilmer Ave

We welcome you to el corazón de New Brunswick – the French Street and Joyce Kilmer Avenue corridor, the heart of Latino New Brunswick and a unique experience of Hub City. This neighborhood boasts over fifteen authentic Mexican eateries, featuring many specialties from the Mexican states of Oaxaca and Puebla, the origin of many of the city’s immigrant families. Locals and visitors can also choose from a variety of other Latin American and Caribbean cuisines, from Peruvian to Puerto Rican. And don’t forget about the pizza, chicken, bakeries and more!

When you’re done eating, check out the many retail and service establishments. From A to Z, from almacenes (general stores) to zapaterías (shoe stores), French Street and Joyce Kilmer Ave has you covered!

There’s plenty to see along French Street and Joyce Kilmer Avenue as well. Take a one-of-a-kind walking tour of our many distinctive public murals and art installations, or explore historical and cultural sites like the Joyce Kilmer House and the American Hungarian Museum.

However you choose to explore, we hope to see you soon!
